Annual Events

Alumni and Development Office Events 

Event Description Date
Combined Reunion Dinners We hold combined reunion dinners to celebrate 10, 25, 40 and 50 years since matriculation. (See table below) February/March
Reunion Luncheon Alumni who matriculated 60 or more years ago are invited to return for a yearly reunion luncheon. October
London Carol Service We hold a dedicated carol service for our alumni in London each year. Previous venues have included: All Saint's Margaret Street, Chelsea Old Church and St George's Hanover Square. mid-December
Garden Party Alumni and their families, members of the 1448 Society and members of the Arthur Armitage Society are invited to join us for our annual garden party in the President's and Fellows' gardens. Sunday towards the end of June
Michaelmas Drinks at the Oxford and Cambridge Club Drinks and nibbles in the Oxford and Cambridge Club for alumni and supporters of the College at the Oxford and Cambridge Club in London. October/November
Spring Drinks at the Oxford and Cambridge Club Drinks and nibbles in the Oxford and Cambridge Club for alumni and supporters of the College at the Oxford and Cambridge Club in London. March/April
Benefactors' Feast (by invitation only) Each year we celebrate our most generous benefactors with a service in Chapel and feast in Old Hall.  Late April
Queens' Distinguished Lecture in Law (by invitation only) This yearly lecture and dinner is generously sponsored by Redress Solutions.  Mid-October
The Varsity Matches (Twickenham Stadium) We distribute tickets and exclusive alumni deals on behalf of The Varsity Rugby Matches which take place at Twickenham Stadium. Late March
1448 & Arthur ArmitageSociety Talks (Zoom) The 1448 Society (those who give regularly to the College) and the Arthur Armitage Society (those who have remembered Queens' in their Will) meet regularly over Zoom to hear talks by and for society members.  Termly

MagSoc Concerts (student-run) The St Margaret's Society of Queens' (known as MagSoc) holds two major concerts in West Road Concert Hall each year in addition to recitals, open mic nights, competitions and other events. BATS Shows (student-run) The student theatre society BATS puts on shows in the Fitzpatrick Hall throughout the year and a May Week Shakespeare play in Cloister Court. BATS President
Queens' Arts Festival (student-run) The Queens' Arts Festival runs yearly in Lent term and exhibits in the Fitzpatrick Hall foyer.  QAF@queens.cam.ac.uk
Queens' Entrepreneurship Society (QES) talks The College has created the Queens' Entrepreneurship Society (QES) for students, researchers, and Fellows to develop entrepreneurial skills and commercialise research. It hosts regular talks at which alumni are welcome. The QES Committee
Angevin Society talks The Angevin Society hosts intellectual discussions in an informal setting hosted by Anna El-Erian. The MCR President
The President's Fireside Chat Series The Fireside Chat Series invites alumni, current students, and friends of the College to have an informal conversation with Queens' President, Dr Mohamed El-Erian. See the College website
Bumps Garden Party (student-run) Support the Queens' boat at "bumps" by attending the garden party run by the boat club. The boat club also have a dedicated alumni officer whom you can contact via their website. Captain of the Boat Club
Boar's Head Dinner (student-run) The annual dinner for past and present members of the Boat Club. Captain of the Boat Club
Rugby Dinner (student-run) Past members of the rugby club may return to attend the rugby dinner. Rugby Club President
 History Dinner Alumni who studied history are welcome to join the subject dinner in College. The Director of Studies for History, Dr Gareth Atkins
Queens' May Ball Alumni may purchase tickets for the biennial May Ball.  The May Ball Committee
Formal Hall Dine either on High Table (MA Dining) or Alumni Club Table. The Catering Office
Other Society dinners or events... Other Queens' Society and Subject events may welcome Queens' alumni. If you run a student society, let us know what you'd like us to share by contacting alumni@queens.cam.ac.uk

How we notify you about events

Unless you've asked us not to, we email you to let you know about events you might be interested in. Add alumnievents@queens.cam.ac.uk to your contacts so that these emails don't go to spam. If you'd like to hear less from us or think you're missing emails, please let us know by emailing alumni@queens.cam.ac.uk to let us know.

Registrations, tickets & refunds

You may register for events on the dedicated event webpage. Should you be unable to complete the online registration form, you may book your ticket over the phone by calling the Alumni Office on 01223 331944. 

Should you wish to cancel your ticket, please let us know. We refund tickets cancelled up to 5 working days prior to the event.

Once you are registered, you will receive one confirmation email from alumnievents@queens.cam.ac.uk and final details will be sent out in the week leading up to the event. Please note that after your initial registration, our correspondence will be sent to the email we have on file, not the email you used to register for the event. If you would like to change your primary contact details with us, let us know

Arrivals, parking & accommodation (Queens' College only)

Parking is not possible at College for reasons of environment and space unless you are a Blue Badge holder or have significantly limited mobility. Please contact the Porters at porters@queens.cam.ac.uk or on 01223 335500 to let us know in advance.

We cannot provide accommodation for our events due to student residency and conferencing. In exceptional circumstances, a limited number of rooms may be available to book. Check availability far in advance by contacting guestrooms@queens.cam.ac.uk
