Considering Queens'?

Students Queens' RoundQueens' is a large, centrally located College with extensive grounds by the River Cam. It is characterised by openness and informality, making it modern, welcoming and comfortable. At the same time, Queens' is still a place of historical beauty and charm.

College life

We have a diverse community, including around 1000 students.  The JCR (students' union for undergraduates) and the MCR (students' union for postgraduates) represent students’ voices within College, as well as supporting student societies and organising social activities.

The College offers a range of facilities, including a theatre, gym, squash courts and punt hire on the main site.  The sports ground and boathouse are nearby.  Alongside sport, Music, Arts and Drama form an important part of College life. The Chapel and Faith Centre on the main site are available for College members of any and all faith backgrounds to use.

Undergraduates are provided with College accommodation for three years during their studies.  Many postgraduate students also live in College accommodation.  There is a range of rooms available, including en suite and accessible options, and pricing is transparent, with no hidden extras.  A full catering service is available for those who wish to use it, alongside the option to self-cater.

Our location means that we are close to many of the central University sites and facilities, and we are also on the route of the Universal bus, which provides a direct link to departments on the West Cambridge site, the railway station and the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (including Addenbrooke’s Hospital).

Visiting the College

If you would like to visit Queens’ and experience the College’s unique atmosphere, our Open Days are an excellent way to do this. The College is also open at other times for prospective students to explore the main site: please go to the Porters’ Lodge on Silver Street.

If you can’t visit the College in person, why not look at our Virtual Tour to find out more about key parts of the College.

I decided to apply to Queens' after some Queens' students visited my school and I had the chance to come and spend a few days experiencing College life. The size, location and friendly atmosphere all made Queens' an obvious choice. Since coming here, I've really appreciated being able to live in such a supportive and accepting community, where I can be myself and make the most out of all the opportunities student life has to offer.
