Queens' alumnus & Hon Fellow announced as new Governor of the Bank of England

We are delighted that Dr Andrew Bailey (1978 & Hon Fellow) has been appointed as the new Governor of the Bank of England.

Dr Bailey read History at Queens' and was awarded The Joshua King Prize in the final year of his undergraduate degree, for achieving the highest mark of any Queens' student in his year. He went on to study for a PhD at the College, where he was a Munro student.

Last year he was elected an Honorary Fellow of the College in recognition of his distinction. Photograph, right: the new Honorary Fellows at their installation in June 2018. Dr Bailey is second from the left, back row.
