Enslavement and Salvation at Queens’ College: an Old Library exhibition

This exhibition investigates Queens’ College’s links to the Atlantic Slave Trade, exploring the complex lives and worlds of a variety of Queens’ members through books and other objects they left behind. Focusing on intertwined networks of evangelical abolitionists and slave-owning family members at Queens', these material legacies offer a revealing window into some of the political, spiritual and social factors out of which enslavement came to occupy so natural a part of life in Britain during its age of empire.

The exhibition is open on weekdays (1.30pm-4.30pm) from 27 October until 2 December, and throughout Lent by appointment. Access is via the first floor of the War Memorial Library.
