The Rev. Dr. Jonathan Holmes, B.A. (1970), M.A. (1974), Vet.M.B. (1973), Ph.D. (1978). Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (1973). Ordained Deacon in the Church of England 1988, Priest 1989 (Diocese of Ely), and granted permission to officiate within the Diocese.


Fellow of Queens' since 1983; Life Fellow since 2014


Formerly University Lecturer in Veterinary Anatomy, Senior Proctor of the University 2013-14. Formerly Chaplain, Dean of Chapel, Assistant Director of Studies in Veterinary Medicine; Director of Studies for Veterinary Medicine at Clare, Gonville and Caius, Trinity, Sidney Sussex, Corpus Christi, St Edmund's, Lucy Cavendish Colleges.

Personal interests

Reading, especially history books. Genealogy. Collecting old veterinary books, books on Cambridge, and on genealogy. Travel and photography. Singing (choirs and choral society) and listening to records of classical music. History, especially the history of Cambridge University.
