Dr Jamie Gundry.

Jamie studied Biology at the University of Nottingham at BSc level, and then undertook the highly regarded Biological Photography & Imaging MSc there. He then completed a PhD in Insect Flight in the Department of Zoology at the University of Cambridge, titled 'A Near-Perfect Flying Machine: the 3D Kinematics of Hoverfly Flight', graduating in 2011.

Since then Jamie worked as the University Museum of Zoology's in-house photographer for 2 years, creating high-quality imagery of about 700 of its 'type' specimens for the use of researchers around the world, before returning to supervising undergraduates in 1A Evolution & Behaviour, 1B Animal Biology & 1B Ecology, holding aposition as Director of Studies in BioNatSci at Queens' College as well as a bye-fellowship at Christ's College. He was voted one of the top eight undergraduate supervisors in all the sciences at the 2016 CUSU Student-Led Teaching awards.

Personal interests

He combines these term-time commitments with running a wildlife photography business taking keen photographers, both amateur and professional, to a range of locations in Britain and parts of Europe to photograph charismatic wildlife such as puffins (in Skomer and Skokholm, Pembrokeshire) and white-tailed eagles (in Flatanger, Norway).
