A Celebration of Stanford : Non-choir alumni

Charles Villers Stanford
To mark the centenary of the death of Charles Villiers Stanford (Queens' Organ Scholar 1870), we will be holding a day of events in College on Sunday the 21st of April.

The programme includes an organ recital, alumni 'Come and Sing' Evensong, and a dinner in Old Hall.

Alumni are warmly invited to attend the events of the day, and no registration is required. Registration for the dinner has closed.

FAQs

Q: When is this event?

A: These events will take place throughout the day on Sunday the 21st of April.

Q: Where will the event be held?
A: The majority of the events will take place in Chapel, and the dinner will take place in Old Hall.

Q: I am in touch with fellow alumni of the choir who haven't received their Save the Date/ Registration email. Can they still attend the event?

A: There are some alumni for whom we have no valid email address or have lost contact altogether. If you are in touch with any of these people, please do pass on the details of the dinner and ask them to contact Queens' by emailing alumnievents@queens.cam.ac.uk or by calling +44 (0)1223 331944.  

Q: How much will it cost to attend the dinner?
A: £50 per alum.

Q: Can I bring a spouse, guest or partner along to the dinner?
A: Due to limited numbers, there will be no guest tickets available for the dinner, but guests are warmly invited to attend the recital and join the congregation for Evensong and can register to do so below.

Q: How do I register for this event?
A: Registration will open via the form below for non-choir alumni. Alumni of the choir may register via this link. Please email alumnievents@queens.cam.ac.uk if you have not yet registered but wish to attend. Registration will close on the 10th of April, or when each event reaches capacity.

Q: What is the dress code for those singing or attending the dinner?
A: Lounge suits or equivalent.

Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A: Refunds on cancellations are only available up to five working days before the event (up to Monday 15th of April)

Q: Will parking be available?
A: Due to limited space and environmental concerns, there will be no parking available in College unless you are a blue-badge holder or have very limited mobility. For those who have requested parking in advance for the aforementioned reasons, this will be arranged for you. We therefore recommend using the Park & Ride services in Cambridge (see the following map https://cambridgeparkandride.info/) if you wish to travel by car.
