It was a wonderful opportunity for alumni to reconnect and meet our new President on her first visit with Queens’ to the US.

New York

24 alumni came together for a drinks reception at the Cambridge in America Office.

Dame Menna shared her vision for the future of Queens’ and we were delighted to launch our ten-year campaign, Bridge to the Future. Read the campaign summary to find out more.

It was rewarding to reflect on the enduring impact of Queens’ across generations and across the world.

Washington, D.C.

22 alumni joined for a drinks reception at the AC Hotel Downtown. The joy of catching up with old friends was evident throughout.

Whilst in Washington, Dame Menna and Rowan Kitt took the opportunity to visit St Luke’s Church, founded by Alexander Crummell, the first Black graduate of the University of Cambridge and a Queens’ alumnus.

Crummell remains an important part of the College’s history and today his legacy continues through the Alexander Crummell Scholarships which support postgraduates from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds.

If you want to know more about the scholarships, we have an interview with Tomi Akingbade, the inaugural Crummell PhD scholar, on our campaign website and in the latest edition of The Bridge.

73rd Annual Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race Dinner

Alumni of the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race gathered for a dinner in Washington, D.C.

Dame Menna gave the Response from the Universities.

We were proud that Queens’ College had the largest alumni turnout of any Cambridge College, demonstrating the strength and engagement of our community in the United States.

The conversations, connections and generosity shown throughout the visit were a reminder of the global reach of Queens’ and the important role our alumni and friends play in shaping its future.
