Open to Macau University of Science & Technology graduates who have gained admission to postgraduate (Master’s level only) degree programmes at the University of Cambridge.
Thanks to a generous donation from Dr Liu Chak Wan, Chancellor of Macau University of Science & Technology (MUST), Queens’ College is pleased to announce that three part-scholarships will be available for MUST graduates who have gained admission to postgraduate (Master’s level only) degree programmes at the University of Cambridge from October 2027.
Each scholarship is worth £30,000 and can be used to cover academic fees or maintenance costs; the scholarship recipients must conduct their postgraduate study at Queens’ College and (normally) should have put Queens’ as their first-choice College.
There have now been two Dr Liu Chak Wan Scholars complete their qualifications, and a further two individuals have attained provisional funding for the incoming academic year. Queens’ goal is to enable a cohort of MUST students across the years to study in Cambridge, further enriching academic life in College and enabling a wider pool of individuals to study at the University as course costs continue to rise.
Rachel Deng (Queens’ College 2024):
My name is Rachel Deng, and I was awarded a Dr Liu Chak Wan Scholarship through MUST to study for a Master’s degree in Psychology and Education at Queens’ College, Cambridge. Studying at Cambridge was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Queens’ quickly became a home away from home, and the academic environment challenged and inspired me every day.
The education I received at Cambridge continues to shape my professional journey. The scholarship opened doors that might otherwise have remained closed, and I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow and become part of such a supportive community.
I wholeheartedly encourage MUST students to apply for these generous scholarships. Studying at Cambridge is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I hope more students will have the chance to experience everything Queens’ College and Cambridge have to offer. Audrey Sun (Queens’ College 2025):
My name is Chenhaojie Sun, and I was awarded a Dr Liu Chak Wan Scholarship through MUST to study for an LLM at Queens’ College, Cambridge. I studied 2020 at MUST.
My time at Cambridge was an unforgettable experience. Queens’ quickly became a home from home, and the academic environment challenged and inspired me every day. As an example, I went to the Queens’ Distinguished Lecture in Law and hear the Lady Chief Justice speak.
The education I received at Cambridge has played a significant role in shaping my career, and I am now working for a barrister in London. The Scholarship opened doors that might otherwise have remained closed, and I am immensely thankful for the opportunity.
I wholeheartedly encourage MUST students to apply for these generous scholarships and take advantage of everything Cambridge has to offer. To learn more, please visit the MUST website, and the websites of Cambridge University and Queens’ College (if you are a student at Cambridge, you must be a member of one of the 31 colleges).
