Boat Race Glory!

Congratulations Queens' postgraduate students, Grace Prendergast and Ruby Tew, part of the Cambridge Women's crew who defeated Oxford in a record-breaking time.

On April 3rd, the Gemini Boat Races returned to the Championship Course, between Putney and Mortlake, stretching over 4.17 miles.

For the first time ever, Queens' was represented by two Olympians for the Women's Blue Boat, Grace Prendergast (in the 7 seat) and Ruby Tew (in the 4 seat).

The power and class of the Cambridge boat was obvious from the start and the Light Blues triumphed over Oxford by 2 1/4 lengths. This was in a record-breaking time of 18:22.8 (beating the previous record by eight seconds).

Many congratulations to Grace and Ruby, and to the entire Women's Crew, for this great achievement. This means that Cambridge Women have been victorious five years in a row. The Women’s Boat Race now stands at 46-30 in favour of Cambridge.
