The donor John Finch has not been identified for the engraved date of 1825. There was a John Finch, of Kent, who was admitted as Fellow-Commoner in 1644, of whom nothing more is known. There was a John Finch active as an attorney and in civic matters in Cambridge during the 1820s, but not apparently a university member.

The donor was Samuel Curteis (1768–1844). He was the son of James Curteis, M.D., of Tenterden, Kent. After admission to Corpus Christi College as a sizar in 1784, he migrated to Queens’ in 1788. Graduated B.A. 1789, M.A. 1801, LL.D. 1808. Master of Sunbury School, Middlesex.

A single cast candlestick (right in photograph), with tulip baluster stem and waisted square foot. Similar to the 1762 candlesticks (left in photograph), but having coin edge mounts. At bottom of stem: boar’s head badge, with inscription on base below "Ex donis Gul. Marshall // & Ant. Crofts Armig.".

The donor William Marshall (b. c.1691) was admitted as a Fellow-Commoner 1708 June 19.
The donor Anthony Croftes (or Crofts) (1684–1725) was admitted as a Fellow-Commoner 1700 April 4.

Speculation: it is possible that this single candlestick was purchased in order to replace one from 1762 (donor William Fytche) which was noted as lost in the 1831 inventory. If so, it is strange that this replacement was engraved with the names of Marshall/Crofts, who already had their names engraved on a pair of 1781 candlesticks.

The donor in 1989, Dr Blas Bruni-Celli (1925–2013), was a Venzuelan author and academic, and a visiting Professor in the Michaelmas Term 1988, holding a Professorial Fellowship at Queens’ College. He remained as a Bye-Fellow for the Lent and Easter Terms 1989.

The donor in 1960 was B. Kett, M.A., said to be a collateral descendant of Thomas Skelton.

The original owner was the Revd Thomas Skelton (1834–1915). Matric. 1853. B.A. 1857; M.A. 1860; B.D. 1881. Fellow 1858–9. Ordained 1858. Missionary from the S.P.G. to India 1858–71.

The donor was Henry Louis Winter (1816–1871), born in Tourance, France, admitted to the college around the age of 44 as a Fellow-Commoner 1860 February 3, matriculated 1860, B.A. 1864. Curate of Little Eversden 1866. Curate of Alnmouth, Northumberland, 1867–, where he died in 1871. This gift was probably a legacy.

Tankard and cover, of peg style (no peg). Shot feet, lion rampant with shield thumbpiece, set with 37 coins, one from the reign of each monarch, starting with William the Conqueror at the bottom, culminating with Victoria in the centre of the cover. Engraved on the underside: “THIS TANKARD WEIGHING OZ 35·15 WAS MADE TO RECEIVE 37 COINS OF ENGLISH HISTORY // E. B. A. RAYNER BEQUEATHED 1961.”
