This programme offers the opportunity for a recently graduated undergraduate student to visit the University of Southern California (USC) for one semester (autumn) to undertake study in any field. The aim of the exchange is to promote international scholarly collaboration and increased contribution to social development. USC is one of America’s leading universities, with particularly highly regarded graduate schools of cinema (rated number one in the world), journalism and musical performance, as well as other outstanding academic departments. Students will be expected to enrol in at least 16 units of coursework, one course of which may be taken pass/ no pass. For the course book see: www.usc.edu/soc
With effect from move-in day, 16 August 2017, one graduated student from Queens’ (typically in the term immediately after graduation) may pursue a course of study at USC. All classes offered at USC will be available subject to course prerequisites or other qualifications being met. USC will make accommodation available in a typical residence hall at the published rate, to be paid by the student.
Costs and Funding
Queens’ College will reimburse the cost of one return airfare (economy class) to California. The student will be responsible for all other financial arrangements, and proof of funding will be required before departure. The tuition costs payable by the Queens’ student will be one term’s Cambridge University fees at the Home/EU undergraduate rate, payable to Queens’ College.
The student should be prepared to meet accommodation costs of between $6,000-$7,000. Other living expenses, including mandatory health insurance, should fall within the region of $6,000-$7,000.

Applications should include a statement of not more than 750 words concerning the benefits you hope to derive from the scheme and what contribution you hope to make to life at USC.
