Queens' College Poetry Prizes 2019

The College has been given money by the families of former pupils to endow two poetry prizes in their memory as follows:

The Sam Hadfield Poetry Prize

Eligibility: Queens' undergraduate students
The prize value is £100

This prize is to encourage Queens’ undergraduates, not solely from the English Department, to write poetry both as an art form and as a means of expressing their feelings.

The Henry Frederick Farr Poetry Prize

Eligibility: All Queens' students
The prize value is £100

This prize was set up in 1981 and is open to all student members of Queens’.


Entries should not be more than 200 lines of verse in length and may consist of a single poem or a group of poems. They should be sent to the Senior Tutor via: tutorial.secretary@queens.cam.ac.uk.

Deadline for entries:  Friday, 12 April 2019

Submissions are judged on an anonymous basis, and no feedback will be given on individual entries.
