Queens' Postdoctoral Research Associates (Q-PDRA) Scheme 2019

Applications are invited from matriculated members of Queens' College holding a recognised postdoctoral position at the University of Cambridge or one of its Partner Institutions (the Animal Health Trust, Babraham Institute, British Antarctic Survey, Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre, European Bioinformatics Institute, MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, National Institute of Agricultural Botany and the Wellcome Sanger Institute), to become a Queens' Postdoctoral Research Associate (Q-PDRA).

Scholars in any subject discipline may be considered.  Q-PDRA positions are available for one year in the first instance, and may be renewed for a second and final year upon application.  A total of four Q-PDRA positions will be recruited annually.

Q-PDRAs will not be elected to Fellowships, nor will they attend Governing Body.  They will, however, receive a personal research allowance of up to £500 per annum.  In addition, a Q-PDRA will be granted membership of the Senior Common Room and will be entitled to three meals per week at College expense.  Neither rooms, nor accommodation, will normally be offered.

Completed applications should be sent to the Senior Tutor, c/o Mrs Thomson (tutorial.secretary@queens.cam.ac.uk) to be received by Friday, 12 April 2019.  A complete application will consist of the following (strict word limits apply):

  • A statement as to why the Q-PDRA is sought (500 words).
  • Curriculum Vitae (two sides A4)
  • A statement of current and projected research (1,500 words)

In addition, applicants should arrange for two confidential academic references to be supplied by the closing date - to be sent directly from referees to Mrs Thomson at tutorial.secretary@queens.cam.ac.uk.  Incomplete, late or over length applications will not be considered.
