Queens’ College/Peterhouse Archivist

Queens’ College and Peterhouse seek to appoint an experienced full-time Archivist to provide high quality archive services in both institutions (0.5 in each).  The successful candidate will have the expertise and insight to map out the future management of archival records in each college. They will design and implement new policies and procedures (on collection development, description, care and conservation, and access) that embody best practice across the sector. The post holder will curate records of all periods dating back to the fifteenth century, as well as undertake tasks which support the effective delivery of archive services to internal and external researchers. Duties will include cataloguing historic and new archival records, making archive material available to researchers, responding to enquires, preparing exhibitions of archival material for college events and outreach, responding to Freedom of Information and Data Protection requests.

The contract is permanent, part time (0.5) at Queens’; and 3-years fixed term (in the first instance), part-time (0.5) at Peterhouse. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week), in general 9am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday. The salary will be in the region of £39,829 - £40,954 per annum. The leave allowance is 26 days per annum plus public holidays.
