Applications are invited from scholars holding a recognised postdoctoral position at the University of Cambridge or one of its Partner Institutions (the Animal Health Trust, Babraham Institute, British Antarctic Survey, Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre, European Bioinformatics Institute, MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, National Institute of Agricultural Botany and the Wellcome Sanger Institute) to become a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) at Queens' College.
Applications cannot be considered from scholars who have matriculated at any Cambridge College.
Scholars in any subject discipline may be considered. PDRA positions are available for one year in the first instance, and may be renewed for a second and final year upon application. A total of four PDRAs will be recruited annually.
PDRAs will not be elected to Fellowships, nor will they attend Governing Body. They will, however, receive a personal research allowance of up to £500 per annum. In addition a PDRA will be granted membership of the Senior Common Room and will be entitled to three meals per week at the College’s expense. Neither rooms, nor accommodation, will normally be offered.
Completed applications should be sent to the Senior Tutor, c/o Mrs Thomson (firstname.lastname@example.org), to be received by Friday, 12 April 2019. A complete application will consist of the following (strict word limits apply):
- A cover letter to include current job title and the start date of your current appointment plus precise details of your postdoctoral affiliation. If you will be joining a University Department later this year, please state the name of the Department you will be joining and the date.
- A statement as to why the PDRA is sought (500 words).
- Curriculum Vitae (two sides of A4)
- A statement of current and projected research (1,500 words)
In addition, applicants should arrange for two confidential academic references to be supplied by the closing date – to be sent directly from referees to: email@example.com.
Incomplete, late or over length applications will not be considered.
