Catering Porter

Queens’ College is looking for a Kitchen Porter to assist with maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the Catering Department. The Catering Porters are an integral team contributing to the delivery of an exceptional dining service by supporting the Food Service and Kitchen teams in the running of a smooth and efficient department.  Duties will include: table and chair set ups for various events and dinners, maintaining cleanliness of plate/pot wash areas, food preparation equipment and food storage areas. Maintaining stocks of cleaning materials and ensuring compliance with all relevant Health & Safety and Food Safety policies and regulations.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience of working in a food handling or hotel kitchen environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A flexible, well organised and “can do” approach to the varied and demanding workload
  • A keenness to learn and develop within the Catering team

Remuneration and Benefits:

  • Salary: £24,975.50 per annum
  • Hours of work: 40 per week, on a shift system, covering seven days, including evenings and weekends
  • Final Salary Pension Scheme after qualifying period
  • 26 days’ holiday, in addition to public holidays (34 in total)
