Sports bursaries at Queens'

Queens' offers two levels of sports bursaries:

1) Minor grants for sport (“Q550 bursaries”): one application of up to £170 per academic year. Applications will be considered from the start of Michaelmas Term until Friday 7 June 2024.

What for? Contributions to costs incurred when participating, normally, in College sports and for subscriptions to join University sports clubs.
Example applications: for sports equipment, travel to matches etc.
Please apply here: completed application form and receipts to be emailed to the Financial Tutor. Since we allow only one application per student per academic year, you may wish to delay your application if you anticipate further expenditure, up to the annual limit, later in the year. Application forms that are not accompanied by receipts will be rejected. Proper receipts issued by the vendor (or the Treasurer of a sports club) are required: screenshots of bank transfers, or copies of bills, are unacceptable. The receipt must show your name and address as evidence that the item was purchased by you and not by somebody else, the vendor's name and address, what was purchased, on what date and for how much. Order confirmations are also unacceptable, please do not submit your application form until you receive from the vendor a receipt or a "paid" invoice. An example of an acceptable receipt is available here.
Q550 refers to the campaign conducted to raise funds in 1997 – the 550th anniversary of the College’s foundation.

2) Major bursaries for sport (“Endowed bursaries”): up to £500.

What for? Contributions to costs incurred when participating, normally, in elite-level sport e.g. when representing the University, normally at Blue, national or international level.
Example applications: for training camps and competitions in Varsity matches, nationally and internationally, for specialist sports equipment, for travel to fixtures and for larger subscriptions.
