Queens’ Men’s Rugby XV triumphed over Emmanuel College last night in this year’s Cambridge University Rugby Cuppers Competition quarter-finals. A determined effort from the men in green saw a 22-10 victory over a strong Emmanuel side. Despite the rain, four tries and a conversion secured the win, bringing plenty of cheers from the keen crowd of Queens’ supporters present.
Special guest, international referee Angus Gardner, presided over the whistle at Grange Road as a warmup to his duties in the upcoming England v Ireland Six Nations game.
With consistently strong wins in this Cuppers Competition, 34-15 over Jesus and 94-5 over Magdalene, Queens’ now face Caius in the semi-finals next term for the first time since 1984!
