Queens’ PhD student wins an IEEE Electron Devices Society PhD Student Fellowship

Chen Jiang, an Engineering PhD student at Queens', has been awarded an IEEE Electron Devices Society PhD Student Fellowship.

The IEEE Electron Devices Society PhD Student Fellowship is the most prestigious award for PhD students studying in the fields of electronic devices and promotes, recognises and supports PhD level study and research in these areas.

Chen Jiang’s PhD research focuses on ultralow-power, low-cost organic electronics for wearables. It opens new opportunities for printed flexible electronics in wearables that sense human electrophysiology in real-time. The results have been recently published in the Science journal, with Chen as the first author.

This is the first time that a student from the University of Cambridge has won this award since its establishment in 2001. Every year, three fellowships are awarded, with one fellowship being given in each of the following geographical regions: Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa, and Asia/Pacific. Chen has been recognised for his ability to perform independent research and his proven history of academic excellence in the field of electronic devices.

Many congratulations to Chen.
