Queens' on West Coast, USA
The President and Development Director hosted a virtual event for alumni on the West Coast of the USA yesterday as part of the Queens' Global Network. This was the 14th event the College has held since lockdown started last year!
Alumni who matriculated from 1953 through to 2017 were present on the call. Queens' has a flourishing group of 190 alumni based on the West Coast, as well as 800 in the USA generally.
The President updated everyone on the current situation in College and discussed what Queens' has learned from the last year, as well as the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
A Q&A covered the College's plans for the future, the fortunes of Queens' sports teams and other extra-activities and the ways teaching and learning have adapted during the pandemic, among other topics.
This afternoon I participated in the Zoom event and it was remarkably effective and powerful. Queens' provided a marvelous experience for me and I shall be forever grateful to it.
