PhD candidate, Florence Nabwire's research: HIV and nutrition

Florence Nabwire came up to Queens' in 2013 as a Doctoral Researcher at MRC Human Nutrition Research. Florence grew up in Kenya and studied to become a nutritionist, specialising in nutrition programming, health systems strengthening and nutrition care in context of HIV in sub-Saharan Africa. During her Master's degree, Florence volunteered at Baylor College of Medicine in Uganda, a clinic that provides care and support for more than 6,000 HIV-infected children and their families. She is now writing up her research, tracking the effects of antiretroviral therapy on maternal bone health and infant growth in Uganda.
