Oscar win for Queens' alum's Bohemian Rhapsody

The film 'Bohemian Rhapsody', co-produced by Queens' alumnus Jim Beach, had a very successful night at the Oscars last weekend, winning more awards than any other film this year.

Jim Beach read Law at Queens', matriculating in 1961, and became a solicitor with Harbottle & Lewis. He went on to manage the iconic rock band Queen.

Other Queens' alumni have won Oscars in previous years. Paul Greengrass (1974), who read English at Queens', has directed award-winning films including United 93, Captain Phillips and the Bourne films. The Bourne Ultimatum won three Oscars.
