Michaelmas term MagSoc concert

The Michaelmas 2019 MagSoc concert, a celebration of German Romanticism, took place yesterday evening in West Road Concert Hall.

William Rose was at the helm, conducting the MagSoc Symphony Orchestra and Chorus through Bruckner Os justi and Te Deum and Brahms Symphony No. 2. They were joined by a stellar line-up of soloists from Queens' College Choir: Sophie Ellis, Eva Cottingham-Mayall, Andrei Smid and Robin Pillinger, who is also the Aliki Vatikioti Organ Scholar.

This was the first MagSoc concert to be supported by The Farrant Fund, an endowed fund to provide financial support for the society. The fund, generously endowed by Stephen Farrant (1956), will support not only the termly concerts in West Road Concert Hall but also the recital series and extra concerts throughout the year.
