The Queen's Birthday Honours 2022

Congratulations to current postgraduate student Grace Prendergast and Kevin Brown (1975) who have both been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list

Huge congratulations to Queens' members who have been awarded honours this year.

Current postgraduate student Grace Prendergast has been made a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her services to rowing. In Tokyo 2020, Prendergast became a two-time Olympic medallist taking home both gold and silver medals. She won the gold medal in the Women's Pair alongside crewmate Kerri Gowler, who has also been recognised this year.

Alumnus Kevin Brown (1975) has been awarded an MBE for his services to Radiotherapy. Kevin's research looks to accelerate the introduction and adoption of three major technologies to improve cancer outcomes and reduce side effects. These are the ability to shape the radiation dose to the individual target, Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy, the ability to accurately position the dose, Image guided Radiotherapy (IGRT), and IGRT using a high field MRI, MR guided Radiotherapy.
