Geological Society award for Professor Marie Edmonds

Congratulations to Professor Marie Edmonds, Ron Oxburgh Fellow in Earth Sciences, who has been awarded The Geological Society's Bigsby Medal.

The Bigsby Medal was founded by John Jeremiah Bigsby (1792-1881), and is to be awarded ‘as an acknowledgement of eminent services in any department of Geology, irrespective of the receiver’s country’.

The award was previously won in 1997 by Professor James Jackson FRS, also a Fellow of Queens', and in 1979 by Professor Ron Oxburgh FREng, Honorary Fellow and President of Queens'.
