Fourth annual Blues Dinner

The sporting life of the College was celebrated this week at the Blues Dinner, an evening to recognise Queens’ students who have regularly represented the University over the current academic year.

Forty-four students attended the event, reflecting involvement in 23 sports from water polo to trampolining. In total, over 60 members of Queens’ have represented Cambridge in sport this year, 16 of whom are Blues.

The students and Fellows assembled in Cloister Court with the President, Lord Eatwell, for photographs, before a drinks reception in the President’s Garden and dinner in Old Hall.

The guest speaker was Annalisa Gigante (1984), CEO, industry expert and consultant in digital transformation and investment. As former captain of the Cambridge University Ladies’ Volleyball team, member of the CU Athletics Club, Half Blue and founder member of the Ospreys, the University sports society for women, she is used to balancing sport with academic and professional achievement. Annalisa described how sport can equip you with decision-making skills, strategy, leadership and resilience.
