Centenary Armistice Service 11 November

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armistice, the College’s Remembrance Sunday Service in Chapel will be open, as usual, for all members to attend. Students and alumni are most welcome and warmly encouraged to attend.

The Service will begin at 10.55am (you should be seated by 10.50am) and there will be refreshments served in Old Hall from 10am, as well as drinks after the Service, also in Old Hall. The dress is smart with gowns for members.

At least 80 Queens’ members were killed in the War and at least another seven died of accident or illness. Some others died long after the Great War as a result of wounds received. 121 were wounded and taken prisoner. At one point during the war, the College’s student population numbered only 12.

There will be an exhibition of Queens’ & the Armistice situated at the west end of Chapel.

Please let us know if you are planning to join us for the refreshments before or after the Service, by emailing alumnievents@queens.cam.ac.uk or calling +44 (0)1223 761422. All members are welcome.
