Athletics glory for Queens' women

The College was well represented at the Varsity Athletics Match, held in Oxford on 19 May, with three Queens' women in the CUAC team.

The day was a particular triumph for Caroline Hilley (2015), who won the 100m and 400m hurdles for the third consecutive year, as well as the 200m hurdles for the first time. Caroline was awarded the Achilles Trophy in recognition of her outstanding achievement - a prize given to the athelete who has made the most significant contribution to the Oxford and Cambridge Athletics Clubs. Her time in the 200m hurdles was also a Varsity Match record.

"What a day to remember forever," said Caroline. "A bittersweet end to three incredible years competing for CUAC - nostalgia is hitting hard already!"

Izzy Dye (2016) came second in the 800 metre race, and Ellie Lane (2015) competed in javelin and shotput for the third year running.
