Banqueting

BANQUETING:

  • Can diners choose their menu on the night?  Unfortunately not. Menus must be chosen 3 weeks before the date of the banquet.
  • How many menu choices can be made?  All diners will be required to choose from the same menu with exception to vegetarian and anyone else with special dietary requirements
  • How does the Chef prepare meals for diners with specific dietary requirements? The Chef will substitute ingredient(s) wherever possible. If not possible, he will prepare a different meal, but the diner will not miss out on courses because of the dietary requirement.
  • Can drinks be charged on a consumption basis? All house wines can be charged on a consumption basis. All other wines and premium drinks must be ordered in advance. Bottles not consumed will be invoiced and can be taken away with the client after the event.
  • Can we have any drinks from the drinks list for the drinks reception? Absolutely, and if there is anything not on our list that you would like, we can try to order it in for you
  • Can clients provide their own drinks? Yes, for a 'beverage service fee' (corkage)
  • Is there a room hire fee? If so, what is it? If numbers are above the minimum number of diners in the dining room then there is no charge. If numbers are below, there will be a supplement charge of half the room hire, or an upgrade on your products to the equivalent charge
  • Is there a deposit? Yes, we will require a deposit invoice of  25% of the estimated quote, including VAT. This will be calculated based the number of guests provided by the client at the time of booking, and any other information provided.
  • What is the latest notice that a dinner can be organised (before the date)? Preferably, we would like one month's notice prior to the dinner. However, we are willing to discuss shorter time frame if we have the availability.
  • How many parking spaces do we have - where is the nearest car park? As you can imagine being a city based College, we have very limited on-site parking. Parking spaces can be arranged directly with the College Porters. We will always try to ensure a parking space is available for a guest who has accessibility needs. However there are other car parks in walking distance of the College, such as the Grand Arcade.
  • Do Porters need a list of attendees names? Not usually.
  • Do you have round tables? We do not own round tables, but these can be ordered in at the extra cost.
  • Do you allow guide dogs? Please discuss this in advance
  • Are there places to smoke on the College grounds? We have a smoking (including e cigarettes) ban in place throughout College, except for two small areas set aside for smokers, behind Cripps building and behind Friars' Building (restriction between 6pm and 6am).
