Dr Matt Saxton, MMath (Oxon), DPhil (Oxon), acting Director of Studies for Mathematics Parts IA & IB.
I am a college teaching officer in applied Mathematics. I supervise various undergraduate applied Maths courses. During the 2017/18 academic year, I am the acting Director of Studies for Mathematics Parts Ia & Ib.
My research is in Fluid Mechanics. My PhD project was on "Modelling the contact-line dynamics of an evaporating drop"; this involved using asymptotic methods to gain physical insight into the way a liquid drop moves as it evaporates.
I am a member of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics (DAMTP), conducting research in Fluid Mechanics.
