Dr Jasmin Jahić, MSc, PhD

I hold a M.Sc. degree from Ecole Centrale de Nantes, France in Robotics, awarded in 2012. At the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany, I obtained my PhD in 2020. The topic of the thesis was "Supervised Testing of Embedded Concurrent Software”. From January 2013 to June 2019, I worked as a project manager and a researcher at Fraunhofer Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE) in Germany. Besides working as a researcher and manager in public and industry projects in the areas of embedded software architecture, modelling, and simulation, during my time at IESE I was in the core team of two fully funded EU level project proposals (ECSEL and H2020 funding schemes).

University

I am employed as a research associate at the University of Cambridge, in Computer Architecture Group, where I focus my research on concurrent software systems and software system architectures. I have experience with establishing large public research projects, and managing large and small public and industry projects. I am also actively contributing to EU research committees as a manager of a team comprising 25 experts, and I have served in program committees of several high-profile conferences. I have a lot of experience in using acquired knowledge and skills for creating volunteering projects that empower those coming  from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Personal interests

From October 2018 to May 2020, in parallel with my work at Fraunhofer IESE, I worked as a coordinator for European Masters Program in Software Engineering (EMSE) at the University of Kaiserslautern. The program was jointly coordinated by the faculties of Computer Science of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, University of Oulu, Finland, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain, and University of Kaiserslautern, Germany.
