Commemoration of Benefactors 2020

Watch the ancient tradition of the (socially-distanced) Commemoration & Ceremony of Benefactors held in Chapel, in accordance with the College statutes. This year's occasion was, of course, the final time that Lord Eatwell commemorated past donors to Queens' and celebrated our current benefactors.

It is introduced by the Vice-President, Professor Marie Edmonds (Oxburgh Fellow in Earth Sciences).

Notes:

  1. The names of current Benefactors were read out but are redacted from the video here for their privacy. College members may request a full version of the video from the Communications Officer (communications@queens.cam.ac.uk).
  2. In normal times, our Benefactors are thanked personally (in Latin) at this Service by the President in front of the Fellows and students, and attend the Benefactors’ Feast afterwards.
  3. Benefactor status is conferred upon anyone who has donated £10,000 or more (net) to the College in the three years preceding the Commem service. For more information on becoming a Benefactor to Queens’, please contact Ann Cernek and Sam Davis (development@queens.cam.ac.uk).
