Please check carefully for all which are relevant to you:

- If you have already completed some or all qualifications, please now send us copies of the official award certificates. For ALL students, we require electronic copies of certificates relating to any completed examinations and qualifications referred to in your UCAS application.

This includes GCSEs, IGCSEs, AS and A Levels.
This includes ANY achieved qualifications which are not UK A Level examinations (e.g., Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers, International A Levels, Pre-U, International Baccalaureate, European Baccalaureate, Irish Leaving Certificate, Abitur, Matura, Erretsegi, ATAR, STEP etc.).

- If you have pending qualifications that are not UK A Levels, you should supply copies of official examination certificates for these as soon as possible after receiving your results.

We may request that original documents or results are sent to us directly from an organisation, such as College Board.

- If you have pending qualifications and will take examinations for UK A Levels or STEP, we should receive your results directly from the awarding body and you do not need to send us these separately.

- If you have an unconditional or deferred offer, please now supply us with copies of certificates for all formal education qualifications, including any from the UK, e.g. GCSE, AS & A Levels, International Baccalaureate, Scottish Advanced Highers.

- If you have certificates which are in a language other than English, you must supply a satisfactory certified translation in English.

You can find a list of qualifications which are sent to institutions by UCAS here: How Your Exam Results Get To Universities And Colleges | UCAS

You must also send any documents for formal music examinations taken and declared on your UCAS application. Do not send us any other certificates that are not formal education qualifications.

Our preference is for electronic documents - please note that we are generally unable to return any documents received by post and there may be a delay in receiving or processing these.

Please be aware that for qualifications which are not UK A Levels taken in summer 2024, we may ask to see original documents on arrival at College.

Your Finances

Fee Status

The College has assessed your fee status based on details you have supplied via UCAS.

Information about fee status is available at
http://www.ukcisa.org.uk
https://www.undergraduate.study.cam.ac.uk/international-students/international-fees-and-costs/tuition-fee-status.

Queens' College is responsible for determing fee status for new undergraduates. Please contact the Admissions Office if:

  • you would like to submit a fee status questionnaire with supporting evidence and request a review of your fee status
  • there are any changes to your permanent residency which may affect your fee status
  • you currently do not qualify as a Home student due to your current immigration status, but hope to do so with an imminent change of immigration status

Caution Money

After your admission is confirmed, you are required to pay before you come into residence a deposit of ‘Caution Money’ (£300). Caution Money is a compulsory College membership deposit. You will not be permitted to commence study at Queens' in October without having made this payment. Whilst you are here you will be allowed to accrue charges on account. Caution Money is used to offset these credit facilities as well as to cover any debts before graduation (you cannot be presented for a degree whilst in debt). It will be repaid at the end of your time in Cambridge by a credit on your final College bill.

Payment of Fees and Bills

There will be various payments to College which you will need to make before you come into residence, i.e. Caution Money, fees, College bills. The College has an Online Payment Portal which enables you to make online payments. You will receive an email in August from the Queens' Finance Office, giving you login details for the Payment Portal.  You will need to remember and use these details throughout your time at Queens', to enable prompt payment of your bills.

Your Health and Wellbeing

 Access and Disability Resources

Health

Later in the year the Health & Wellbeing Team will send you a confidential health questionnaire. However, if there is anything you feel it would be useful for us to know now and which you have not already informed us of, please let us know. This is particularly important if you will have special accommodation needs.

If you have not already declared a disability and wish to now do so, please complete the Disability Disclosure Form and upload it to the link provided by email.

Accommodation

Undergraduate Accommodation will be available for three years.

No accommodation can be requested nor will it be allocated until all the Freshers' places are confirmed, which will be after A Level results are released in August 2024.

Once all places are confirmed, you will be sent an email by the Accommodation Officer prompting you to apply for accommodation on-line. Please note that the deadline for registering for accommodation once you have received this email is very short and you will only have a week in which to respond.

Please let us know in advance if you have any special accommodation needs. It is very important that you do this, as requests may need supporting medical documents.

Your University Card

You will be given a University Card when you arrive at College.

The card will allow you appropriate access to sites, buildings and rooms in College and enable you to make payments via the cash-less system in the Cripps Dining Hall and QBar.
