Furnishings
Bed, Wardrobe, Chest of Drawers, Desk, Study Lamp, Bedside Table, Waste Paper Bin. This is a list of items that are typically provided in a study/bedroom and should be used for guidance only. An exact room inventory will be available to students on arrival.
Bedding
No bedding is provided. Bedding packs are available to purchase from the Housekeeping Department. Order forms are sent out with room allocation details.
Kitchen equipment
College provides 2 conventional cookers, 1 microwave, multiple fridges and freezers, 2 kettles, 2 bread toasters, washing machine (coin operated), tumble dryer (coin operated), kitchen table and chairs.
Other College provided items
Colour television in the sitting room and associated licence. Vacuum cleaner, cleaning equipment, dustbin bags and toilet rolls. Dining table and chairs, soft seating and a coffee table. Bicycle storage.
Storage
2 storage cupboards are available for suitcases and boxes. All items must be labelled with your name and room number and must be removed at the end of your stay.
Cleaning
Each resident is solely responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of their own bedroom, their personal cupboards in the kitchen and for washing up their own cooking and eating utensils. All residents are jointly responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the communal house areas. The College will send a cleaner once weekly to assist in the cleaning of communal areas.
Keys
Room keys should be collected from the Porters' Lodge on the main Queens' College site in Silver Street, Cambridge and must be returned to the Porters' Lodge at the end of residence.
Maintenance
- Students are responsible for ensuring any problems which may arise with the furnishings or fixtures within the house are promptly reported to the appropriate college department. Parking
Parking may be used by those residents who have a parking permit. Residents should contact the Domestic Bursar's secretary for further details: bursec@queens.cam.ac.uk
