Languages Discovery Day

Queens’ Languages Discovery Day

Monday January 11th 2027, 10:00-16:15

Discover the Academic World of Languages…..

Languages are about much more than speaking and translation. At Queens’ Languages Discovery Day, you’ll explore how the study of languages opens doors to understanding diverse cultures, societies and perspectives across the world. Take part in university-style workshops, engage with authentic cultural materials, and discover how students investigate contemporary global issues, history, linguistics, literature and film through the lens of language. You’ll meet academics and current students, gain an insight into university study, and learn how language graduates develop analytical, communication and intercultural skills that are highly valued across a wide range of careers.

The Languages Discovery day is relevant to students interested in studying: Modern & Medieval Languages; Asian & Middle Eastern Studies; Classics; Anglo-Saxon Norse and Celtic; Linguistics & Modern Languages.
