Reid Hoffman named Distinguished Academic Visitor

Hoffman is a thought leader, entrepreneur, investor, and visionary who helped shape the digital world as we know it today. Best known as the co-founder of LinkedIn, Hoffman’s life work aims to develop and invest in companies and technologies built to enhance human life and experience.

After his undergraduate degree at Stanford and postgraduate degree at Oxford, Hoffman began his career in Silicon Valley as an early executive at PayPal, where he played a critical role in scaling the company before its acquisition by eBay. Following LinkedIn’s success, he became one of the first investors in some notable startups including Airbnb, Facebook, and OpenAI. His expertise in identifying and nurturing innovation has solidified his reputation as a key influential figure in the tech industry.

More recently, Hoffman has focused on the development of artificial intelligence, together with ethical and moral aspects. He has been an advocate for AI’s responsible advancement and has co-founded several AI-driven companies including Inflection AI and Manas AI.

The author of six books,  Hoffman co-authored and released his new book, Superagency, earlier this year. It became a New York Times best seller and offers a perspective on what a potential roadmap to inclusive and adaptive AI could look like.
