Degree congregations are held at the Senate House on various dates throughout the year. The Congregation of the Regent House is one of the oldest traditions in the University and its origins can be traced back some 800 years.
Your degree will not be officially awarded to you until you have participated in a Congregation of the Regent House, either in person or in absence. Your degree certificate will only be issued once your degree has been conferred.
Graduands with outstanding College or University bills will not be permitted to proceed to a Congregation until all bills have been cleared.
If you choose to receive your degree in person, you will be invited to attend a college Drinks Reception and Graduation Lunch prior to your ceremony. You will be a guest of the college at these events; you are also welcome to bring up to three additional guests at a cost of £23.00 per guest.
You will need to book your lunch places and any dietary requirements when you register to receive your degree either via your Camsis self-service page (current graduate students), or ESS (previous graduate students). Payment for any additional guest lunches must be made at least two weeks before the congregation date.
