The accommodation is suitable for couples without children and comprises one double bedroom, a lounge and kitchen area and a bathroom with WC. Each flat is furnished slightly differently, however the following items are typically provided; a double bed, wardrobes, storage shelving, bedside table, bedside lamp, desk, office chair, study lamp, easy chairs, oven, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, kettle, toaster, dining table and chairs. Saucepans, crockery and cutlery are supplied (sufficient for 4 persons). Bed linen is not provided but details of how to purchase a bedding pack will be sent to all students who are offered couples accommodation.

Prices vary according to the facilities and outlook of the flats. Gas, electricity and water charges are not included but will be charged in arrears based on meter readings. Further information is available in the document Schedule of Fees and Charges.

No reductions will normally be given for absences from Cambridge during vacations or owing to coursework. College owned flats are therefore most suitable for students who intend to remain in Cambridge throughout the academic year.

The NTL Centrex CU2 telephone service is provided. The telephone account is held by the College (not by the residents), and the socket is permanently active. A telephone itself is not supplied and may need to be purchased by the resident. Telephone rental charges are included in the rent of the flat, and call charges are passed on to the residents by the College. Internet service is available at all Boathouse flats.

A couple of parking spaces are available to residents of the Boathouse flats. Residents should contact the Head Porter for further details.

Students are responsible for ensuring any problems which may arise with the furnishings or fixtures within the house are promptly reported to the appropriate college department. For furnishings contact: housekeeping@queens.cam.ac.uk, for building maintenance please log a request on RMS - https://rms.casc.cam.ac.uk

On arrival, keys should be collected from the Porters' Lodge on the main Queens' College site in Silver Street and must be returned to the Porters' Lodge at the end of residence.
