Record Breaking Telephone Campaign 2014

15 of our current students spent the last three weeks calling alumni; our student callers spoke to 1,243 alumni who shared their stories of College, chatted about their careers, and donated over £360,000 to Queens'. Of those called, 58% of callers committed a gift to Queens'.

Your donations have been invaluable in helping us boost the Queens' Endowment, stustain our Supervision System and help us provide more Student Hardship and Travel bursaries. Alumni were also interested in supporting our clubs and societies as well as buildings; a number of alumni seem particularly fond of the Erasmus building. We enjoyed the competitive edge of our alumni that was fired up by our telethon, with year groups trying to out-give others.

The alumni were fantastic, offering career wisdom and even job opportunities to our callers. All of the students have enjoyed hearing from old Members about what Queens' was like during their time. We loved hearing about the winter the Cam froze over in 1962 and some of our alumni biked to Granchester along the frozen Cam; actors who, much to the College's distress, swapped the annual Shakespeare Festival for Gilbert and Sullivan; hearing about couples who had met at Queens' and subsequently married in our Chapel, as well as old stories about Queens' Fellows and Tutors.

The President, Fellows and students of Queens' are grateful for all support from alumni and friends of the College as well as students who gave up their remaining summer weeks to be part of our campaign.

Please contact the Development Office to discuss any forms of support for Queens' on development@queens.cam.ac.uk or 01223 331944.
