Naked Science Meets Masterchef

Queens' supported a prize internship with the Naked Scientists for Queens' PhD student Fanny Yuen (2011).

 Fanny, pictured centre,  has just completed her placement with the production and publication of a highly successful programme that has aired internationally: "Science meets MasterChef!"

In this episode, the Naked Scientists hosted their very own dinner party. Guests included a master distiller, a Masterchef finalist and a master of chocolate - helpfully on hand to reveal the science behind the perfect dinner party. In addition, the world's fastest supercomputer boots up in China and news of why itchy mosquito bites are more likely to infect.

 The programme aired live to the BBC where Fanny had gathered the three masters, who prepared dinner and discussed the relevant science (of cookery, gin distilling and chocolate) alongside input from psychologist Charles Spence.
