Fifty Years of Queens' Reunions

One year after graduating in 1964, a small group of friends from Queens’ held a get together in Schmidt’s restaurant in Charlotte Street, Soho.  It was agreed to meet the following year in Manchester and thus began our annual reunions, the 50th of which was held in October 2016 near Stratford on Avon.

The group is made up of Mike Addison (medicine), Mike Biddiss (history)Nick Ireland (medicine)Michael Morgan (psychology)Phil Norris (law), Winston Oh (medicine), Dave Parkington (law)  Steve Riley (chemistry) and John Shand (law).  Two other members of the original group, Dave Hawkins (1961) and Mike Seddon (1961), have unfortunately died.

The origin of this miscellaneous group goes back to our very first hall in Queens’ when John Shand invited his near neighbours at table back to his room for coffee. Each of us has taken it in turn to host the reunions which were mainly held in our own homes but more recently in hotels as wives have attended in the last 15 years.  The reunions have been held all over England, seven in Cambridge, most of which were associated with College events.  Three reunions have been overseas, in Belgium (PN) and two in France (MM).
