Boding well for the Boat Race

Last weekend was Head of the River Fours in London - a time trial over the Boat Race course, but in the opposite direction; roughly 600 boats compete.

It's a big marker in the Boat Race campaign as it's the only chance Cambridge has to compare itself directly to Oxford before the race. Ian Middleton, cox of Blue Boat and a Queens' 3rd year, was in the top coxed four,  elite category, setting off behind an Oxford four and a Leander four (comprised of GB senior squad rowers). The boat won the event by four seconds over Leander and beat the Oxford fours in the same category as well.

This is the first time the CUBC have won Fours Head since 2008. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction!
