The Round

The Round is at the heart of the College on the 'new' side of the river. On this side of the river you'll find student accommodation in Cripps Court and the Fisher Building, the main dining hall (Cripps Dining Hall), the Fitzpatrick Hall, the bar, the MCR, the JCR, the gym, squash courts and a variety of teaching and seminar spaces. From here you can use the Mathematical Bridge to cross to the 'old' side of the College where you'll find more accommodation, the Library, the Chapel, Old Hall and Old Kitchens.

Cripps Dining Hall

This is the main dining area in College, providing a self-service cafeteria and Formal Halls. You can also get food at almost any time in the bar.

Fitzpatrick Hall

Also known as the Fitzpat, this hall is used for lectures, film viewings and other events. The seating area can be moved back to provide an open space for events and also badminton.

War Memorial Library

Queens' student Library, the War Memorial Library, is open to all College members and plays a central role in realising the College’s commitment to academic excellence and diversity. Its primary purpose is to build collections and offer assistance to support learning and research undertaken by Queens’ students, as well as providing a quiet and pleasant atmosphere in which to work.

Old Court

Old Court was the first part of Queens' to be constructed. It contains the War Memorial Library (the original Chapel), the Old Library, Old Hall, student accommodation and Fellow's offices.

Old Hall

The College's original dining hall. We still hold meals in Old Hall but due to its limited size these are normally special occasions. Students have a variety of opportunities every year to dine in Old Hall and to bring guests.

Old Library

Founded in 1448, the Old Library is still situated in its original room with bookcases made from medieval lecterns. Although none of the original collection remains, the library holds a fine and hugely significant collection of around 20000 early printed books and manuscripts dating from the 12th to 19th centuries.

Walnut Tree Court

Walnut Tree Court is on the 'old' side of the river. You'll find the Chapel here. And a walnut tree...

Chapel

The Chapel is a place of Christian worship and all are welcome. The majority of the services follow the liturgy of the Church of England. The Chapel is not trying to be a Parish Church but a place of prayer, contemplation and worship for those (like very busy students) whose lives do not always respond to the timetables set out by parish churches.
