  • Dr Andrew Thompson, Assistant Director of Studies in History, is the historical consultant for the new Will Gomperz series, 'The Art of Monarchy' starting this Saturday on R4
  • Dr Andrew Thompson's latest book entitled George II is available from Yale Books.
  • Congratulations to Dr Jamie Shotton who has received Microsoft's 2012 Outstanding Technical Achievement Award for his contributions to Kinect Skeletal Tracking.
  • Dr Jamie Shotton was also part of the team of Cambridge Engineers that won the £50K RAE MacRobert Award in 2011.
  • Following Mary Bowers (2004) tragic accident, The Times have launched a cycle safety campaign. Mary is still in a trauma unit, stable but not conscious. Our thoughts are with her and her family.
  • Dr Richard Hills (1964), Dr John Richer (1984) and Prof. Jonathan Williams (1985) working in Chile on a radio telescope that will revolutionise our view of the origins of galaxies, stars and planets
  • Dr Chris Smith (Bye-Fellow, 2006)reckons the Earth is getting about 50,000 tonnes lighter a year.

  • Joe Bannister (2008) is starring as Shelley in Howard Brentons's 'Bloody Poetry' at the Jermyn Street Theatre, London starting on 31st January 2012.
