Why Queens'?
Your choice of College is important -- it will be your academic, intellectual, cultural and social centre during your time at Cambridge.
To find out what some of our current students think about Queens' you can click here. Or else you can read the entry on Queens' from CUSU's last alternative prospectus. Or here to read the Queens' students own alternative prospectus. Both of these prospectuses are written by students.
For more information you can browse around this website or request a prospectus here. But we think it's hard to tell what makes college tick unless you see it for yourself, so we recommend you come and get the feel for the place at one of our Open Days. But for the time being, here is a quick overview:
Characterised by openness and informality, Queens’ is one of the larger Colleges and is centrally situated in the city. It has a mix of old and new buildings, ranging from the fifteenth-century Old Court to the twentieth-century Cripps Court. Undergraduates are guaranteed accommodation on the main College site for three years.
The focus of social activity in the College is the JCR, which organises a lively entertainment programme and ensures that the student voice is heard in matters affecting the College. Queens’ provides state-of-the-art facilities for theatre, music and dance as well as on-site squash courts,multi-gym, a cinema and sports hall. The sports ground and boathouse are nearby. If you are interested in one of our Choral or Organ Scholarships you can find more information here.
